After my family moved to America, I needed a couple of years to adapt to my new environment since I did not speak any English. But soon enough, I learned how to get around, work and most importantly interact with people. Now, I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful boys ages five and eight. We live in the country, and I think I am the happiest person when I go out in my garden. Now I have it all, my family and my flowers to play with. I started pressing flowers about three years ago, but I think, I tried it long before. It looked nice and my husband told me that I should try to sell it or at least show it to people. I did. And then I could not stop. I discovered the pressed flower art guild and with their support and exchange of Ideas I grew as an artist. Growing flowers was always a passion of mine since I was a child
growing up in Russia. We lived on the first floor of an apartment building
and I could see my flowers next to the window. I was not very successful
growing them however; as the neighborhood boys would always run through my
nice creations. When I got older, I decided to go to college and get really
serious about my hobby. I learned how to design and landscape.
